Chase After Mt. Juliet Car Theft Ends In Antioch Crash

ANTIOCH, TN — A two-county car chase ended with a crash in Antioch, critically injuring a woman.

Mt. Juliet Police were called to the Target in Providence around 7:30 p.m. on a report of a woman fleeing the store with her arms full of merchandise. She jumped into the passenger seat of a truck which had been reported as stolen in Robertson County. The police saw the truck on South Mt. Juliet Road and attempted to pull it over. Instead, the driver of the truck allegedly sped away. Eventually, the truck crossed the center line and hit another car head-on at Hobson Pike and Smith Springs Parkway.

The driver of the truck fled on foot. His female passenger was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the car hit by the truck was also taken to Vanderbilt; he is in critical condition,

The driver has not been located. Metro Police are assisting in the search; the Tennessee Highway Patrol will handle the crash investigation.
